# Combat

One thing that you will quickly discover about the Bitmates’ world is that there are hostile enemies… everywhere! As you’re exploring, be sure to keep your guard up and be ready for an encounter.

Each type of enemy will have unique abilities, combat styles and difficulty levels. Engaging in combat will earn experience points making you more powerful in future encounters. You will be able to engage many enemies in solo combat using a variety of weapons, however, for the bosses, well… you won’t beat them alone! Bosses are very difficult to defeat, so gather up your friends to head into battle and wish yourselves the best of luck!

If you are successful in combat the enemy will leave behind valuable loot that can be used for crafting or trading with other players. The effort is well worth the reward.

Take a look at some of the enemies you’ll encounter soon after starting the game:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bitmates.io/gameplay/combat.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
